Magnolia Drifts - A Poem

In honour of National Poetry Day, I thought I'd post my one and only poem. It's a bit lonely all by itself on my hard drive.

Magnolia Drifts

Magnolia drifts
on an Easterly breeze.
Nestled up to creamy lilac,
it is coconut ice.
East meets West in the suburbs.

I go West and wake to darkness.
There are deeper rhythms that will not be reset.
I am adrift.
My magnolia waits, blooms, fades and waits again.
